The Syriac Catholic Patriarchate Board Church is located in Gümüşsuyu borough in Beyoğlu district of Istanbul. This structure which is open to worship for more than 50 years, welcomes its visitors with a flamboyant exterior wall door overlooking the street. After the courtyard is passed through the gate, which resembles a castle as an architectural design, you will pass to the interior space of the Syriac Catholic Patriarchate Board Church. By the way, its door, located in a semicircular arched section, attracts attention. The general appearance of the door is also felt on the front facade of the building. The two towers and the symbols of the cross on them can be shown among other eye-catching details of the exterior.
Simplicity in the interior is at the forefront. The central dome, high walls, large windows that provide intense lighting, in general, are among the main arguments in this section.
The Syriac Catholic Patriarchate Board Church, also known as’ Sacre Coeur Church‘, meaning ’Sacred Heart', was allocated to the Syriac Catholic Church Foundation for 49 years in 2018 without any cost. Today, the building, which is of great interest to Syriac citizens, is also an important structure that adds value to the city skyline.
