Arsuz, which is located between hatay's coast to the Mediterranean and the Amanos Mountains, is one of the oldest settlement in the city. Hatay's settled life date dates back to 4,000 BC. Arsuz Village, one of the oldest settlement in the city known as the Kenan region and the confluence of Mesopotamia, also fills the eye with its history. Arsuz, known by many different names throughout history, is known first name Rhosus. The village, which was later referred to as Rhopolis, Port Panel, Kabev, Arsous and Arsuz; It is especially known for it’s entry into the rule of General Selevkos I. Nikator, one of the most important men of Alexander the Great. Arsuz then became the land of Rome, Byzantine, Mamluklüs, Arabs, Ottomans and Turkey. Arsuz Village, which has hosted many civilizations and their numerous cultures over time, was ceased to be a parish in 2012 and became a district. Arsuz, where local and foreign tourists who come to Hatay are lined up to see both its natural beauty and historical richness, is the place where the cultures of "milk and honey-smelling land" and "country between two rivers" are blended.
