The Altindag District of Ankara is one of the areas shown as the temple of historical mosques in Anatolia. Surrounded by many mosques, Ahi Yakup Mosque is located on Selman-I Farisi Street in Hacı Bayram District, where the residents of the district worship peacefully with its modest architecture. It is an interesting structure, built on the sloping terrain and has a height of over one meter, because it is entered by climbing stairs. When the structural features of the mosque are examined, it can be stated that the rectangular plan was made with mudbrick plaster on a stone basis and that its roof was covered with tile. The mosque, which its year of construction known, was completed in 1392. The person who built it is Ahi Yakup, son of Ahi Çelebi. The mosque's characteristic mihrab remains of importance, though it has been altered after some repairs. It is located close to Haji Bayram Mosque, one of the most important mosques in the region. It is also located in the middle of the Roman Hammam and Ankara Castle. In general, it is located in an area of numerous historical monuments, including the Temple of Augustus. It is recommended to visit with both spiritual and historical significance.
