Bodrum in the heart of Muğla, the city the sun loves so much, has its origins in the ancient city of Halicarnassus, one of the most important settlements in the ancient world. Along with the Myndos Gate, the most important part of the city that was founded thousands of years ago.…

The historical significance of the gate is that Alexander the Great suffered great losses in the attacks he carried out to capture the city. Due to the ditches in front of it, the soldiers were forced too hard. The trench unearthed as a result of the excavations carried out here was unearthed and can be seen.

Although the date of construction of the historic gate, named after the ancient city of Myndos, is not clear, the indications point to 360 BC. The Myndos Gate, which is illuminated at night and adds to the district's skyline, is also known as Diktiri.

The Myndos Gate on the walls surrounding the city is notable for its towers on both sides, with numerous vaulted tombs around it. These towers, which have reached today with their height at the time of construction, are around 50 inches by seven meters by eight meters.
