Hidivyal Palace

Hıdivyal Palas is built in 1941. Over time, it was used as an orphanage and hotel. Today, the Hıdivyal Palas is shown among the structures of Istanbul to survive despite the passage of time. Today, an Armenian foundation runs this place. Many floors of the building consist of offices used for various purposes. Hıdivyal Palas hosts many special stories in its 180-year journey. Hıdivyal Palace, which stands out as one of the most striking buildings of the period, has seven floors in total.

There are interesting restaurants and art galleries in the building, which is used as a business inn. It is possible to encounter a very pleasant Istanbul panorama, especially on the upper floors. Hıdivyal Palas is located at the corner where Kumbaracı Slope and Rue De Pera meet. The name of the first hotel operated here is D'Angleterre. It is also among the first hotels known in Beyoğlu, one of the most historically special districts of Istanbul.

The fact that the historical building is located on Istiklal Street offers an important advantage in terms of accessibility. The hotel, which was opened for the first time, has a very European look. On the other hand, the very famous Löbon Patisserie operated here between 1940 and 1960. The transformation of this special building into a business center coincides with the beginning of the 1950s. The fact that the Bosphorus overlooks the Rumeli side stands out as another reason that makes the building special. In the period when the historical hotel was opened, advertisements for the hotel found its place in foreign newspapers.

Hotel D'Angleterre operated uninterruptedly from 1841 to 1897. With the hotel stopping its service, the building loses its importance to a great extent. At that time, the building was demolished because the hotel lost its function. When the land registry records are examined, it is seen that the property rights of this legendary hotel belong to Armenian Kirkor Karagözyan.
