Beyhan Sultan Fountain, located on the coastal road of Akıntı Burnu in Arnavutköy, one of the most well-known residential area of Istanbul, was actually found dismantled and piled up in the courtyard of the Tevfikiye Mosque in the 1970s. The reason for this is that as a result of the expansion of the street in the 1950s, it was completely dismantled in order to be rebuilt.
Although the upper part of the fountain is in baroque style, the Beyhan Sultan Fountain with rococo reliefs is definitely a structure that needs to be examined in detail. The art of celi talik calligraphy on the legendary ornamental slab of the Beyhan Sultan Fountain, in which baroque arches with small pillars in between each create a distinctive ambiance, almost captivates.
Beyhan Sultan Fountain, which has three inscriptions on the ornamental slab of the fountain dating back to 1219 and 1804, was built by Beyhan Sultan, daughter of Mustafa III. and sister of Selim III's sister according to the inscription.
Beyhan Sultan Fountain, which is perfectly located on the Rumeli side of the Bosphorus, draws attention with its proximity to Bebek Coastal road. The Beyhan Sultan Fountain, which was built in 1804 and qualified as a wall fountain due to its structure, attracts attention with its monumental feature.
