The building, which was projected by engineers from Aleppo and Beirut but was built by local masters in 1927 and completed in 1928, is now used as the Governorship of Hatay. It is known that the time during the construction of the building is the financial source of the Administrative Assembly of the Banner of Iskenderun.
Reinforced concrete columns stand out at Hatay Governor's Office Building, which has standard Mediterranean architecture. The building, which fills the eye with its rough, walls and courtyard, where rubble stones are preferred, has two-storey architecture.
Hatay Governor's Office Building has also one more significance on the history pages: in 1938, this building is home to both the Presidency, the Prime Minister's Office and the National Assembly in its political life for hatay state, which declared state status for 10 months and 21 days he did.
In 1939, hatay state national assembly consisting of 40 deputies made the decision to join the State of the Republic of Turkey in the same way in this building. In this sense, today's Governor's Office building also has an importance in the recent political history of the Republic of Turkey.
