Esat Pasha Mosque, one of the buildings that stands out for its elegant minaret and simplicity in Erzurum, the city of Mosques, has been on a high hill that has dominated the city for hundreds of years.
According to the marble book located above the entrance gate of the mosque, it was built in the name of Mahmoud by Esat Muhlis Pasha, who served as governor of Erzurum for seven years between 1830 and 1836, was appointed by Sultan Muhlis Pasha. The construction of the mosque the Nuru Osmaniye Mosque is taken as an example in Istanbul. In addition, due to its dilapidated, it was repaired in 1852 in the time of Erzurum Governor Zarif Mustafa Pasha.
Esat Pasha Mosque, one of the beautiful monuments of the city, is seen to have regained its old days after the restoration in 2017. The mosque is known as the highest viewing point in Erzurum with its unique minaret as well as aesthetic eye filling with regular and high quality cutting stone workmanship. There are about 40 tombs in the south, and the scholars and pasha who served in Erzurum were buried and sultan Abdulmecit's tugra is on his inscription.
