Mevlana Museum

We are in the rose garden of the Anatolian Seljuk State. This place, which is now a museum, was given as a gift to SultanÜl Ulema Bahaeddin Veled, the father of Mevlana, during the reign of Sultan Alaaddin Keykubat. The Seljuk State is a depiction of works that have ruled Anatolian Territory for many years and have delivered the cultural accumulation of the Turkish people to the present day. For Seljuk, who lived his brightest period during the time of Alaaddin Keykubat, the philosophy of Islam and mysticism was very important. For this reason, Keykubat presents the rose garden of the state to Sultan Ulema Bahaeddin Veled. Indeed, when Veled died in 1231, he was buried in this garden and the first tomb of the rose garden belonged to him. Although Mevlana's lovers wanted to reach out to him after his father's death and build a shrine here, Rumi said, "There are no more beautiful shrines than the sky dome." After a while, he himself died, and the son of Mevlana cannot resist the demands that come again and the shrine is made. The tomb, which is built quickly, by Bedrettin from Tabriz, which is called the Green Dome (Dome-i Hadra). After this date, new structures are constantly added to the tomb, which is underconstruction permanently until the 19th century. The present state is restored in 1926 and opens to visitors under the name of Konya Asar-ı Atika Museum. When the history pages are staged in 1954, the museum's inventory and exhibition sections are reviewed. After a very detailed study, the renovated venue takes the name of Mevlana Museum. This structure, which is also the dervish lodge of The Mesnevi, which means Rumi, reaches 18,000 square meters. In addition to more than 4,000 manuscripts, the Mevlana Museum, which contains 2,756 volumes of books, especially reveals the development of sufi literature.
