Kilistra, which has structures that look just like fairy chimneys in Cappadocia district of Nevşehir, is also called Cappadocia of Konya. Built on the King's Road, which is of strategic importance to the Romans, this place is particularly prominent with its cross-planned chapel and Hyacinth Church. The ancient city, where explorers who search the paths of monasteries can watch the entire Konya Plain from the scout towers, is also one of the important cultural and faith tourism points of Konya.

The city, home to Azize Theakla, who escaped pagan rule, has been subjected to numerous attacks throughout its history. Kilistra, whose role in the spread of Christianity to Anatolian lands is one of the points that Konya visitors do not go without seeing, which has reached the present day over time and is eroded and worn out in a form similar to the fairy chimneys.
