Dede Sultan Bath, which belongs to Kastamonu dervish lodge and is the only building that reaches the present day, draws attention with its mystical elements in its historical texture.
In the past centuries, many structures that serve Mawlavi, consisting of the teachings of Islam of Mevlana Jalalettin Rumi, which are respected all over the world, have been built. Mevlana's deed and philosophy, which lived in the 1200s, g oto the rounds by a word of mouth even today. Kastamonu, one of the cities that lived its traditions with Turkish and Islamic culture on its territory, was built by the Ottoman Empire in the 1500s. Dede Sultan Bath is the only work that has ever come from the structures connected to the mevlevihane.
The biggest common share of Islam with the Turks is the cleanliness. Since still water is considered dirty in Turks, running water is used and many fountains are built for this. Turkish bath culture represents not only body cleansing, but also soul purification cleansing. For this purpose, a bath house is built by The Sheikh Of Mawlavi Dergah in Kastamonu dervish lodge, Dede Sultan. Dede Sultan Bath, which has been defying time for five centuries, is therefore of great importance both religiously, historically and culturally.
