Ayas Pasha Tomb, which has an excellent location within Eyüp Sultan Complex, one of the most symbolic places of Istanbul, is famous for being a masterpiece of Sinan the Architect. The most important rumor about the tomb, which is wall-less and its construction date goes back to 1536, is being the first work of Sinan the Architect.
The dome of Ayas Pasha Tomb on the left side of the door in the inner courtyard of Eyüp Sultan Mosque opening to Bostan Pier is single and it is placed on four marble columns. Ayas Pasha Tomb located on the right corner of Beybaba Street was built for Ayas Pasha, one of the grand viziers of Suleiman the Magnificent. Although the tomb built with the advice of Lütfi Pasha is not architecturally remarkable, its interior has been designed in a much more elaborate manner.
Ayas Pasha Tomb, one of the oldest buildings from the Ottoman Period, has become a place visited by those who come to Eyüp Sultan Mosque. Therefore, the tomb having thousands of visitors every year has still managed to survive as it was on the first day although it underwent many repairs over time.
