Adile Sultan Palace

Adile Sultan Palace is so beautiful and magnificent that words are inadequate. Today, this magnificent palace hosts events such as weddings, graduations, conferences, seminars and various dinner organizations, and it really has a view worth seeing. Whether it is evening or night, it is a beauty enough to make you fall in love with Istanbul, in our opinion. According to the documents in the Prime Ministry archives, this palace, which was built as a gift for Sultan Abdülmecid's sister Adile Sultan, was built by Sarkis Balyan in 1858. However, when Sultan Abdülmecid passed away during this time, his brother Sultan Abdülaziz ascended to the throne. Abdülaziz, who continued the construction of the palace in order to fulfill his brother's will, had the mansion, which had fallen into ruin, completely demolished and the current palace built. Adile Sultan, in whose name palaces were built, is known in history as a poet. Adile Sultan, known as the only female poet with a divan in the Ottoman Dynasty, attached great importance to education. Adile Sultan, who lost her husband and four children at a young age, decided to leave this palace that brought pain to her life and donated it to the Ministry of National Education in 1868. Adile Sultan Palace became the first boarding school for girls in Turkey in 1916 and was called Kandilli Girls High School. This wonderful place with a magnificent Bosphorus view started to serve again in 2007 and started to host various events as Adile Sultan Palace.
