Atatürk Forest Farm

Atatürk Forest Farm

Many green areas are possible to be met in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Moreover, these green spaces have been integrated with the city throughout history, so to speak, and become public character. Atatürk Forest Farm, which is a special beauty for Ankara residents, is officially declared a site in 1992. The great land here was taken by the order of Atatürk himself in 1925. Atatürk Forest Farm, located in the western region of Ankara, was taken piece by piece from the owners of the property at the time. As a product of a long-term project to include Turkey in agriculture and production, the farm is completely purchased. From the details of the account opened by Işbank on behalf of Atatürk, it is possible to reach the material details of the farm purchase. Atatürk decided to donate this farm to the Treasury a year before he died. Today it now functions as an affiliate of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. In recent years, there has been a very important construction and urbanization in Ankara. In this sense, green fields and farms are considered much more valuable. Of course, it is not easy to reach the oldest green areas of the city until today without change. Atatürk Forest Farm is one of the rare green areas that has achieved this to a great extent. This farm is expanded in order to increase visits to tourist attractions. Structures such as a large zoo, Black Sea Pool and State Cemetery are included here. Later, a new house resembling the house where Atatürk was born in Thessaloniki is added. With all these moves, the farm becomes a place that the people of Ankara often visit. When you come here, you can witness that a house was built for Ülkü Adatepe, who was considered as the spiritual daughter of Atatürk. Especially the buses departing from Kızılay, Çankaya, Gölbaşı, Sincan, Yenimahalle can provide transportation to Ataturk Forest Farm.
