The mosque, which was built with the initiatives of Kethuda Abdullah Aga, is demolished and rebuilt by adhering to its plan as it has lost time.
Pazarkapı Mosque, which was built in Trabzon by Kasım Çelebi, one of the merchants of the period, in 971 AH and 1563-64 AD, later underwent a great fire. Afterwards, it was restored and repaired by Abdullah Ağa in 1793 and opened to worship again. The inscription for this restoration was located above the middle arch of the narthex of the old mosque. The Turkish version of the inscription is as follows:
May the fame of Kethüda Abdullah Ağa rise. He did a good job by guiding the good, well done to his architect. The mosque shows the new style. With its reconstruction, its doors are like a Hamel sign. It came to the nature of the pen by issuing a historical issue. As a place of prostration on earth, it was worth the Bayt-i Ma'mur.
The mosque was repaired in 1853 with the help of Mayor Ali Rıza Efendi and its minaret was built between 1852 and 1853. Although it underwent another repair in 1906, it was demolished in 1988 and a new mosque was built. It should also be noted that the original door wings of the mosque are preserved in today's warehouse.
