Çarşı Mosque, one of the symbols of Trabzon, is located in the center of the city. At the same time, the religious temple, which is the largest mosque in the region, was built in 1839 by the governor of the period, Hazinedarzade Osman Pasha, during the Ottoman Empire. According to the written records, there was another mosque built in the first quarter of the 16th century at the site of the mosque. The mosque is an important point in terms of religious worship and spiritual visits of the city. It is also interesting in terms of art history. Especially the stone that forms the basis of the material in the construction of fine craftsmanship is striking... It has a stonework that fascinates those who see it. It also stands out with its decorations and lighting elements. The Çarşı Mosque is built on a sloping terrain, so there are shops on the ground in one corner. The Çarşı Mosque, which in general enriches the skyline of the city with its large windows and different architecture, rises in the rectangular plan. It consists of a section called the last closed congregation between the men and women prayer areas and the courtyard of the mosque. In some parts of the mosque, which has three entrance gates in total, small columns, arches, altar with rich decorations, pen works, sermon pulpit, striking main dome and the minbar that is shown among important examples of stone work. The building, which has only one minaret, is one of the distinguished locations that makes Trabzon.
