The ancient theatre, which was dated to the 4th century BC, has a capacity of close to 10 thousand people and its marble-covered seating is still standing today. Other parts of the theatre are preserved in ruins today.
The theatre can be examined in three sections; seating rows, orchestra and stage structure. The seating rows, divided into two sections, are an important example of engineering, formed by carving the bedrock and covering it with marble. The orchestral section, where the plays are played and the songs are sung, covers a large area larger than a semicircle. The stage structure with the doors is located to the south of the theatre.

12.07.2022 13:45Yaz aylarında genellikle konserler düzenleniyor. Bodrum'a gidildiğinde bir yaz akşamı antik tiyatroda konser izlemek de ayrı keyifli oluyor. Güzel korunmuş görülmesini tavsiye ederim.
