Historical Kayseriye Arcade

We are in the most famous and most visited bazaar in Mardin. This has been a frequent destination for the city's guests for centuries. The date of the construction of the historical Kayseriye Arcade is not fully known, but it is thought to have been built between 1487 and 1502. According to information obtained from the Ottoman archives, the arcade, which had 74 active shops in 1526, has increased its number to 111 by now. The arcade, which is not allowed to succumb to time, undergoes restoration and repair works many times. The venue, which has taken its present state in the past centuries, is one of the most visited places for the people of Mardin and tourists who come to the city. The interior is created by laying cross vaults on thick vaults in two rows. Historical Kayseriye Arcade, which consists of two main sections, consists of occasional shops in southern part, while the interior is a structure that surrounds the shops. During the researches about the venue, it is tought that it belongs to the foundation of Kasım Pasha Madrasah foundation and the Grand Mosque Foundation, but there is no definitive information. The Historical Kayseriye Arcade, which exhibits the most beautiful examples of silver, the most commonly used ornament of Anatolian lands, is one of the symbols of the city with its more than 100 shops and numerous souvenirs.
