The construction date of the Mor Gabriel Monastery, which was built in a high location in a wooded area, is recorded as 397. The monastery, which is referred to by different names at various times, is also known as Deyrulumur, referring to dayro d'Umro, which means 'The House of Priests' in Syria. His original name comes from Metropolit Mor Gabriel, who lived between 634 and 668. The monastery, which was the metropolitan center in 615 and 1049, was eventually expanded by the construction of shelters, domes, monument houses, prayer places, and temples, and therefore with additions to both interior and exterior sections. So it became one of the largest Syrian monasteries in the world. It has other significance with its age. Mor Gabriel Monastery founded 400 monasteries in Greece, about 150 from Mort Katherina Monastery in Egypt and Mor Saba Monastery almost 80 years ago; it also attracts attention in this aspect.
