Mardin Maturation Institute

We are in the first training building of Ottoman Empire, in Mardin. Built in 1892, the building is now used as Mardin Maturation Institute.
With the announcement of the reform edict in 1839, westernization movements gain momentum in the Ottoman Empire. Although the constituational declaration in 1876 said the move was over, it continued until 1922. Especially during these periods when education curriculums are examined and adapted to the Ottoman people, the state builds many new structures for education. The mesopotamia region is most based on the study of Turkish youth at the European level.
It is built where Muzafferiye Madrasah is located, today's Mardin Maturation Institute. From 1892 to 2012, this building, which was praised for its continuous education, began to serve as a high school when it was first built. The institute consists of two main buildings: A and B blocks, and is also the first building used by the Ottoman Empire for educational purposes in Mardin.
In 1923, with the announcement of the Republic in Turkey, the building was introduced as a secondary school and later raised students as Mardin High School and Commercial High School. The structure, which was taken by Mardin Governorship to be converted into an institute, was restored with decorations, especially in the architectural style of the Anatolian Seljuk State, and it has become today.

Sonrasında ise sağ tarafınızda Gazipaşa ilkokulu karşınızda da olgunlaşma enstitüsü binası duruyor. Her iki binada çok etkileyici. Keşke bizde böyle okullarda okusaydık dedirtiyor insana.
