Yusuf Aga Library, consisting of manuscripts of important clerics who conduct research on the philosophy of Islam and sufism, is of great importance both architecturally and historically.
Yusuf Ağa Library, built adjacent to the mosque in the western part of The Sultan Selim Mosque, is built by Yusuf Ağa, who lived in Konya in the late 1700s. Mehmed Sadık carried out the construction works of the building, which has been standing since 1795. Sadık will be in control of all workers and work progress gradually until the library is completed.
The main gate of Yusuf Aga Library opens to Selimiye Mosque. Today instead of, this door is closed, the window rearranged door-form is entered. The roof part of the library, made of cutting Gödene stone, is covered with a dome of lead. The library, which is affiliated with Konya Writing Works Regional Directorate, also fixes the hunger for information for travelers with its extensive collection. There are close to 12,000 works in Yusuf Aga Library, which includes over 3,000 manuscripts and more than 8,000 printed books.
