Çatalhöyük Neolithic City, which contains remnants of the cultural life of communities that have just moved into settled life, has been among the points that have attracted the attention of explorers for many years.
Çatalhöyük Ancient City is spread over an area of approximately 14 hectares along the Plateau of South Anatolia. This place contains some of the oldest and perhaps mysterious information in human history. The historic campus of Çatalhöyük Neolithic City, consisting of two separate mounds, east and west, the east part dates back to 7400 BC.
The eastern mound has 18 separate layers of neolithic settlements. In this place, where neolithic people's daily social life and the problems experienced when they settled into life were examined, countless remains were found. The findings, which were found in these archaeological excavations, including reliefs, murals, sculptures and many other artistic elements, shed light on today.
The western mound of Çatalhöyük Neolithic City is younger than the eastern mound. When you look at the artifacts reached during the excavations, a history journey dating back to 6200 BC is observed. The mound, which includes many cultural works from the Kalcoholicitic period, also called the Copper Stone Age, also reached the villages that have been in existence for more than 2,000 years. These abandoned village structures provide important information about the transition of people from the past to urban life.
Çatalhöyük Neolithic City, which is not returned without seeing those who want to witness thousands of years of history, is one of the active research points of archaeologists.
