Three Mihrapli Mosque, also known as the "Kazancılar Mosque"; It is located in the Eminönü district of Istanbul. It is known that it was built between 1469-1478 by Hoca Hayrettin during the period of Ottoman Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror.
In time, as the number of Muslims in the region increased, it became necessary to add to the mosque. There is a land belonging to Damascus Kadısı Ahmet Efendi next to the mosque. When the Kadı passed away, this plot was requested from his wife. The wife of the woman agreed to give this land on the condition that a mihrab was built in her name. Thereupon, Fatih Sultan Mehmet orders that a mihrab be built for one woman's wife and one for her bride. It is the only mosque with three altars in Istanbul.
The mihrab is the hollow and recessed place in the middle of the wall in the direction of the qibla, where the imam stands in front of the congregation while praying. This name has been used since it has become three parts with the additions made to the mosque over the years. The walls are completely built with crushed stone. Cut stones were used in the repaired sections. While the first part of the building is domed, the other parts have a wooden roof.
