Sevda Tepesi which is one of the locations that makes people enjoy the landscape near Istanbul's Anatolian fortress gets its name from a sad love story. Lieutenant Vahit Bey, who resembled the famous Hollywood actor Rudolf Valentino in the 1930s, begins to be called Valentino Vahit of Kandilli when he came first in a competition because of this similarity. Valentino Vahit was in love with Belkıs Hanım and they met here. When his father wants Belkıs to marry his heirs Emin Dirvana, Lieutenant Vahit asks Belkıs to come to the groove and shoots Belkis and himself. The name of the grove belonging to the Cypriot Mansion, referred to by names such as ’Çamlık Tepe‘, ’Ömür Tepe', begun to be referred to as Sevda Tepesi according to this story.
Sevda Tepesi, which has an area of 57.140 square meters, is famous for being used a lot, especially in Yeşilçam movies. Belonging to the grove of the Cypriot Mansion, the area, which is fascinating with its natural landscape from past to present, is home to about 300 years of tree and plant species.
The grove, where green and blue meet in the most beautiful part of the Istanbul Strait, is one of the places that Istanbul lovers cannot give up. Those who want to get free from the stress of the city can enjoy the view with family and friends. Additionally, the Kuleli Military High School building, one of the most established high schools in Turkey, the foundation of which dates back to 1845, can be seen from here
