Private German High School

Private German High School, also known as "German High School", is not only in Istanbul; but also is one of one of Turkey's most prominent educational institutions. Today, the Private German High School, which provide education as an "Anatolian High School", has a preparatory class. The high school which has an important place among high school secondary education institutions in Turkey, not only domestic, but also demonstrated great success in the international platform.

The Private German High School, located within the boundaries of Beyoglu district of Istanbul province, was established in 1868 under the name of "German and Swiss Citizens School Based on the Principle of Equality", and initially aimed to serve the community whose mother tongue was German in the city. Of course, as time progresses and the popularity of the school increases, not only students of German origin; It started to attract the attention of Turkish students as well.

Private German High School, which has an excellent location near the Galata Tower, was closed after the World War I and in 1924, it offered education again. Finally, in 1945, Beyoğlu Girls High School started to offer education in the same building. In 1953, the building was returned/possessed to its original owner and it has been actively providing education since then under the name of Private German High School.

The Abitur diploma, which the Private German High School awards to its students, gives the right to apply to university in the most modern cities of Europe such as Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Another school that the Abitur diploma is awarded in Turkey at Istanbul High School. Every student who graduated from Private German High School, which provides education under Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education and Federal Education and Research Ministry, will have the Deutsches Sprachdiplom in addition to the Abitur diploma.
