The statue of Lefter Kucukandonyadis, who is one of football player identified with Turkey's leading sports club Fenerbahce, is located in Kuşdili Park near the stadium where football match takes place. It is located within walking distance of Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in Kadıköy district of Istanbul.
The monument of the football player, who has his name written in gold letters in the history of the club and known as “professor in ordinary” due to his mastery in football, was opened with a ceremony in 2009 after built by Sculptor Ferdi Evren. The statue depicts legend player while he is kicking a soccer ball wearing a uniform, and the inscription “I support Fenerbahçe boastfully, Give to Lefter Write on Notebook” draws attention on the marble bust. There is a section of five lines, which gives information such as the number of goals scored throughout his career and introduces him, under this phrase identified with him.
The real name of Turkish football player of Greek origin, who was born in Büyükada in 1925, is Elefterios. He was referred to as Lefter shortly. He is one of the symbol names of the club. He won four championships totally with Fenerbahçe and played football for Italy's Fiorentina and France's OGC Nice for a while. He made his jubilee in Fenerbahçe.
He scored almost 400 goals under Fenerbahçe uniform, which he wore for 17 years totally. He also played 50 times with the Turkish National Team and scored 21 goals. The legendary name, who also worked as a Technical Director and Writer after his football life, died in Istanbul in 2012.
