Üsküdar, which has become almost a cultural mosaic as hosting many civilizations from yesterday to today, is one of Istanbul's leading districts for its historical buildings. Located between Üsküdar and Beylerbeyi, Kuzguncuk offers the rainbow with the greens, blue of the Bosporus, and colourful houses, and Kuzguncuk Mosque is a part of this rainbow.
Built in 1950-1952 with the supports of the Kuzguncuk Mosque Supporting Society and the local people, the mosque lines up along with a church and synagogue on the same street.
Located just in front of Kuzguncuk port, the mosque is with a single minaret and balcony. Almost a twin of Şemsi Pasha Mosque in Üsküdar, the mosque was added a part adjacent to the church.
Built from cut stone, the mosque's Kiblah wall is covered with tiles, and its minbar and sermon platform is covered with wood. The mosque's interior was restored in 2005 preserving its original, and then it was opened for worship. Kuzguncuk, almost a town within a city, has been the platform for many TV shows and movies.
Kuzguncuk, where adhaan, bell and hazan voices jumble with each other, offers a culture mosaic mixing this moral wealth at the same place. The ones who wish to experience a nostalgic atmosphere in the heart of the city can visit Kuzguncuk Mosque offering a historical structure.
