The Great Yusuf Pasha Public Fountain is located between the indescribably beautiful Molla Çelebi Mosque, which Scholar and poet Kazasker Mehmet Effendi had Sinan the Architect build in 1561, and Kabataş Dock.
The fountain was built in 1786 by the Great Yusuf Pasha, the Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamit I. Because of many adornments and Baroque style, the fountain has, unlike the usual, engraved windows on both sides of the middle tap.
A quite elegant door is available between the marbles where the fountain intersects with the wall on the right side. And an octagonal eaves is placed over the sophisticated building with a long inscription. The public fountain is indicated as one of Istanbul's best fountains thanks to its golden colour adornments and ambience, and it functions as a small cafe today.
Historical Great Yusuf Pasha Public Fountain, which has survived with its original structure, can be described as one of the historical works in the middle of the historical destinations.
