Kireçburnu Shore is the Bosporus seaside in Sarıyer District on the European Side of Istanbul. It is the coastline of the region named as Kireçburnu (Lime Foreland) because of the limekilns providing tons of lime which were used in the construction of Rumeli Fortress, one of the military structures used by Mehmet the Conqueror for conquering Istanbul, the last remaining city of the Byzantium Empire.
The region is famous for its streets surrounded by old houses, its historical stores and fish restaurants, and the seaside especially draws the attention. One of the favourite destinations for walking, Kireçburnu Shore is also ideal for sitting on the benches and enjoying the Bosporus view accompanied by fresh air. The benches under the tree shades are preferred especially by the regulars for resting, getting lost in the thoughts or chatting in view of the sea.
Kireçburnu Shore promises rich alternatives for food and drink. The shore not only offers many famous taverns and fish restaurants but also it accommodates a historical bakery, well-known mansions and museums. The favourite dinner places serves next to each other on Kireçburnu Shore, and you can also find cafes to enjoy the day starting in the early hours.
