Consulate of Belgium in Istanbul

On the famous Siraselviler Street in Beyoglu district of Istanbul, the Consulate of Belgium has been the center of relations between the two countries for more than 100 years. The country, which has opened consulates in Turkey since the mid-1800s, moved to its current building in 1900 after having been continued its activities in a very small apartment for many years.
Consulate of Belgium in Istanbul, which was created by expanding the structure known as Kepetzis Mansion, is a three-storey building. The building, which attracts attention with its neo-classical architecture, stands out with decorations on the facades behind the high iron fences. The lion, the symbol of the country, and the figure, called Leo Belgicus, with the phrase on it "I'Union fait la Force", that is, "We Are Strong Together" are among the highlights of the sophisticated structure that is the consulate which is an elegant building with its ornamented handrails between floors, colonnaded entrance, Ionic-style columns, triangular pediment between the first two floors, and general architecture.
The consulate building, which has been rising proudly in the same place for more than a century, welcomes its visitors on Siraselviler Street, number 39, in many services, especially visa procedures. Visa procedures can be carried out between 09:00 and 15:00 on weekdays, while other procedures can be carried out until 16:30 when the consulate is open.
