Elekli Baba Tomb

Located in the city of İstanbul, Elekli Baba Tomb is a worship place for local visitors. The historical tomb located on the castle walls in front of the Silivri Gate is among the important places of the city in terms of religious tourism. The tomb was essentially called "Muslihiddin"; however, since the nickname of this valuable person is "Elekli Baba", the tomb is also referred to by this name. He was a person of Arab origin. He acted as the flag- bearer of Eba Eyyub during the Muaviye period.

With the withdrawal of the Arab army, he directly settled here. According to the information conveyed, he lingered on by selling the sieves he made himself. He distributed the earnings he obtained by selling sieves and distributed to the poor around him. It is said that he made the sieves where the tomb is today. His tomb was built here due to the respect for him. When you visit the tomb, you may encounter the sieves hanging here symbolically. In some sources, this place is mentioned as either Elekli Dede Tomb or Elekli Dede Grave.
