Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge

Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge located within the borders of Eyüp in İstanbul the construction of which dates back to the 16th century, has a very central location on Kalenderhane Street. Also known as the Kırımi Dervish Lodge, this lodge was commissioned by Vizier Cafer Pasha between 1586 and 1587. Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge, used as the "Quran Course for Girls" since 1970 and has been serving under the guidance of Eyüp Municipality with the name of "Cafer Pasha Madrasah Cultural Center", belonged to the Halvetiyye dervish order when it was first established.
The entrance to the Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge, built in 1585 as it is seen from the inscription of the famous poet Nihadi on Dervish Lodge, and housing the sarcophagi of Cafer Pasha and his family members, is made through a door with an inscription and a pointed arch. The tomb façade of the madrasah on the left has two floors, but it has a rectangular plan in general terms.
This part of the Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge, which has an arched entrance on the right side of the tomb facade, is still used as a barrack shop in an open plan. Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge, which was first established fort he dervish order of Halvetiyye and later transferred to dervish order of Kadiriyye, had a classroom- masjid part. Cafer Pasha Madrasah and Dervish Lodge, which was recently transformed into Sa'diy-ye Devish Lodge by Mehmed Salih Sırrı Efedendi, has witnessed many historical moments from past to present.
