After the conquest of Istanbul, some of the Greek churches were given to Armenians, while a large part of them were converted into mosques. One of these is the Atik Mustafa Pasha Mosque, formerly known as the Kristos Pantepoptes Church. Since the tomb of Cabir b. Abdullah, who is considered to be the leader of Ebu Eyyub el-Ensari, is located inside the mosque, it is also called the Hazreti Cabir Mosque. There is no decoration belonging to the Eastern Roman period inside the Atik Mustafa Pasha Mosque, which was converted into a mosque during the reign of Beyazıt I. The buildings in Constantinople were built with either a free cross plan type or a closed Greek cross plan type. The plan type of Kristos Pantepoptes is the plan type called the Cross in Square Plan or the Closed Greek Cross. In 1957, the American Byzantine Institute determined that the frescoes found under the whitewash layer on the south facade of the building belonged to Ayios Cosmas, Hagios Damianos and the archangel Michael. The Atik Mustafa Pasha Mosque, which was converted from a church to a mosque, had its covering system changed and was completely reorganized, a flat dome was made and new windows were opened. The cell to the right of the church's apse protrusion became the shrine-mausoleum of Hz. Câbir. Its minaret, which was partially destroyed in the 1894 earthquake, was renovated with a stone cone in later years. The mihrab in the classical style was added to the apse axis. The wooden parts such as the pulpit, rostrum and gallery, which were built in the late period, do not have any artistic value.
