Ataturk Olympic Stadium, which got its name from Turkey's first President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, has the characteristic of Turkey's largest stadium as capacity. The stadium located within the borders of Başakşehir district of Istanbul covers an area of 584 hectares in İkitelli district. Atatürk Olympic Stadium’s construction began in 1999 and completed three years later and opened for service in 2002.
