Gaziantep, located in southeastern Turkey, is a city being famous for its natural beauty as well as its historical values. Dülükbaba Natural Park is one of the prominent places in this context.
Dülükbaba Natural Park is located in Şehitkamil district in the north of the city, in an area of 3,60 decares. The wide area, which was granted the status of Natural Park in 2011, includes historical parts such as the ancient city of Dülükbaba, which is a cultural center of attraction as well as its natural landscape texture.
Dülükbaba Natural Park is remarkable for its plant diversity. Calabrian pine, Jackal plum can reach up to 3-4 meters in length, species such as acorn extremely common. In the park, where plants such as thyme, sideritis, zahter (a blend of powdered thyme), küsküt (cuscuta gronovii) stand out, zahter, which is a kind of spice beneficial to local and health, is also found in abundance. On the other hand, there is a relatively small variety of animals in the natural park. The presence of animals such as jackals, foxes and rabbits can be seen in the park, bird species such as sparrow, crow, partridge, hawk, doğan also roam the skies.
The Dülükbaba Natural Park, which can be entered at fairly modest fees, can be biked or hiking. In addition, picnicking and camping with tents are also common in the park, wildlife watching is also quite common activities.
