Canakkale Martyrs and Martyrs Monument

Canakkale Martyrs Monument and Martyrs Monument is the point of Gallipoli Peninsula that attracts the most visitors. In fact, it is at the top of the travel lists of groups coming from out of town. A variety of reliefs that express the moments of war in the monument also fill the eye. Every year, especially during the week of March 18, many visitors from all parts of Turkey flock to the region. Commemorations are traditionally organized in the area where the monument of martyrs is located. Canakkale martyrs and martyrs monument attracts the attention of foreign visitors as well as local visitors. The representative cemeteries located just behind the monument offer a fairly regular view. This area was opened to visitors in 2007. The names of 59 thousand martyrs whose names were identified in martyrdom are inscribed. Just in front of this representative martyrdom, there is a separate relief of 45 meters. There is a large marble inscription with the words that Atatürk had set up for the soldiers. The Çanakkale Martyrs Monument and the Martyrs Monument are located next to Morto Bay at the end of the Strait. Ismet Inönü has important initiatives as well as Atatürk in the construction process of the Canakkale martyrdom and Martyrs Monument. It is known that the monument cost 4 million Turkish lira in that period.
