Tofaş Bursa Anatolian Cars Museum

The building that houses the Tofaş Bursa Anatolian Cars Museum is essentially a former silk factory located in the Umurbey Quarter. The factory underwent complete restoration between 1998 and 2002. At the end of this restoration it begins to function as a museum. In terms of its theme, Tofaş Bursa Anatolian Cars Museum is the first and only in Turkey. This significantly increases interest in the museum. The venue is spread over a large area of 30 thousand square meters in total. When you come to the museum, you can witness two horse-drawn carriages or modern cars one-on-one. The museum impressively presents all this momentum in a story form. The chariots exhibited here were previously housed in the Bursa Archaeological Museum.

In Bursa, it is seen that many branches of profession have come to the fore, especially silk and coppery, in the historical process. On the other hand, with the modernization steps taken, important breakthroughs about Arabism are realized in Bursa. Tofaş Bursa Anatolian Cars Museum in a sense reflects this rich heritage and especially the foundations of car making. Within the museum, you may encounter 2,600 years of tools and their parts. At the same time, materials, documents, photographs, memorabilia from the first productions extracted from the Tofaş archive colorize this museum. It can be observed clearly how much distance has been made in the museum in terms of production from period to period. Tofaş during the establishment phase of Bursa Anatolian Cars Museum, Tofaş's managers at that time made significant contributions. Tofaş's acquisition of the silk factory in 1998 makes this idea mature. Preparations for the museum's collection were completed in 2002 and opened to visitors in the same year. A historical bathhouse is also included in the restoration while the museum preparations are made.

Tofaş Bursa Anatolian Cars Museum has a garden adorned with greenery. Here, the tire tracks of old cars are clearly visible. The museum can be visited every day of the week except Monday between 10:00 and 17:00.
