Koza Khan

20.08.2024 15:13

During the Ottoman period, in 1490, in the reign of 8th Sultan II.Bayezit, Koza Khan which was started to be built and opened in September 1491, is among the landmarks of Bursa. Located in the centre of the city, the historic building has two floors in a rectangular courtyard with a total of 95 rooms. It is described as a classic planned khan.

The historical Koza Khan, where there is a Masjid with fountain in its courtyard, is entered by a flamboyant crown door. The turquoise blue tiles on the khan gate are also remarkable. Its walls were built with brick and stone materials (mixed technique). The roof is covered with a vault. On the east side, there is a section around the courtyard where there are barn-like sections. This is one of the must-see spots in the city. In some sources, there are many shops inside the Koza Khan, which was built in the form of a Koza Khan and underwent extensive restoration in 1950.

A variety of textile products produced from Bursa's world-famous silk can be purchased in the shops listed in a historical area that carries the simplicity of the past to the present. In particular, Koza Khan is among the places frequented in Bursa to buy gift silk scarves and shawls. There are also shops where you can drink tea or coffee, and you can eat sweets.

Various souvenirs identified with Bursa can also be purchased in the khan. Finally, it closes at 19.00.

Avlusunda dinlenip bir yorgunluk kahvesini içmeden geçemediğimiz yer. İpek şal almayacaksanız mağazalarında başka bir şey yok. Ama avlu kısmı hoş ve güzel.
