Ahmet Paşa Madrasa

Ahmet Paşa Madrasa is also referred as ‘Geyikli Madrasa’ in some sources. The madrasa, which has a very special place for the city of Bursa, was built during the reign of Fatih Sultan Mehmet.

In the construction of the Madrasa, the signature of Ahmet Pasha, one of the famous poets of that period, is found. The Ahmet Pasha Madrasa, created in the 15th century, is used for different purposes over time. After major repairs in 1967, the venue was assessed as a Public Education Centre.

Smooth cut stones and bricks are preferred in the construction of the building. Apart from the main Iwan, the section has a rectangular plan. The section entered into the madrasa has a 7-meter opening. There is a single-domed classroom on the opposite side of this entrance. In the side sections of the courtyard there are porches with pointed arches and vaulted. Just behind the porches, there are 11 separate cells. In general, porches are held much higher than cells. Each of the cells opens to the courtyard section through its doors. In these rooms, lighting is provided by small windows. At the same time, all cells have a quarry and niche. Immediately the front of the section where the porches are located is covered with glass.

Ahmet Pasha Madrasa is located exactly on Beşikçiler Street. The historic building, where the madrasa has been since 2014, begins to serve as a museum. This museum serves as the ‘Ottoman folk clothing and Jewelry Museum’ at that time. There is an interesting fountain in the middle section of the courtyard. Ahmet Pasha Madrasa is repaired four times, starting from the 16th century. The last repair of the madrasa took place in 1999. The property rights of this place belong to Bursa Governorate today. There are no inscriptions of Ahmet Pasha Madrasa in Orhangazi district. Despite this, the knowledge that the madrasa belongs to the 15th century becomes certain.

Restore edildi,. Yine çoğu medrese de olduğu gibi girilemiyordu. Yan taraftaki hazire içinde duvarda küçük bir Çeşme ve mezar taşları var.
