The Red Tower, where the walls of Alanya Castle meet the sea, is one of the most important structures that have survived to the present day from the Seljuk Ruler Alaeddin Keykubat. The Red Tower was built at the point where Alanya Castle meets the sea in order to see the harbor and the sea most clearly. The tower, which was completed in 1226 by the order of the Seljuk Ruler Alaeddin Keykubat, is the only one in Anatolia. The Red Tower, which is the symbol of Alanya, perhaps the most beautiful district of Antalya, also increases the city's cultural tourism considerably. Antalya is the capital on the Anatolian civilization map. It has hosted many civilizations from the Lycians to the Cilicians, from the Byzantines to the Anatolian Seljuks and finally from the Ottomans to Turkey. In this city, which has also earned the title of the pearl of the Mediterranean with its historical beauties and unique nature, Roman and Ottoman architectures are especially striking. Kızılkule, which was renovated in 1951 with a 24-month work, was converted into a museum in 1979. Kızılkule Ethnography Museum, which contains heritage from the Anatolian Seljuk period, also exhibits rugs, looms, weapons and clothing samples belonging to the local people of the past.
