Tree Foot Mosque
19.05.2024 15:47
The Tree Foot Mosque, which is one of the most distinguished and charming mosques in Ankara, attracts attention with its ambience. The sloping terrain of the mosque, which has mudbrick walls, made the use of tree posts necessary in order to increase its durability, and for this reason the religious structure was given the name Tree Foot Mosque.
The Tree Foot Mosque, which is of modest size and has a rectangular plan, stands out with its wooden ceiling and hipped roof. In general, the use of wood materials is intense. The small-scale historic mosque has no final congregational place. The altar leads up to the level of the ceiling. There are three inscriptions on top of each other. Another important detail is the Kelime-i Tawhit written on the outer and inner borders. The colors used mainly in motifs and embroideries are in the form of black, yellow and red. Its minaret is very low in height and is positioned with wooden material in the northwest part of the mosque.
When the Tree Foot Mosque is said, undoubtedly the most appropriate description is simplicity. It is possible to indicate that both the exterior and interior have a very simple appearance.
