Savur Castle, which is referred to as the "Necklace of Mardin", is one of the most important works reached today from the Byzantine period. Savur Municipality, which began work in recent years to bring Savur Castle to cultural tourism, is restoring the castle accordance to its original. As a result of the works, the castle is illuminated by mystical lighting and provides a stand-alone integrity between the hills of the city.
