Emir Bath, which has been standing in Mardin for more than 1000 years, is one of the authentic landmarks of the city. The bath, which is easily reached by straying from the main street and passing through the alleys, is a legacy that has survived from the depths of history to the present day. Emir Bath manages to reflect the atmosphere and texture of all that past to the present.
The rectangular structure stands out with its mosaic floor and two domes. Although not so large and it has been standing for centuries, the structure can be seen as being repaired, and therefore its original version has been changed.
There are no separate sections for men and women in the bath, separate days and hours have been scheduled for men and woman. When it is open to men, women can’t enter when it is to women men can’t. On days like eve of the feast, it stays open until morning.
A locked section of the entrance where clothes and valuables are removed welcomes you. Here some stuff such as waistecloth covering certain parts of the body are used. Afterwards, services such as classical massage, steam room, sauna, belly stone, foam massage and pouch are available, although most are for charge. Mainly the first sauna, then a pouch and a massage in a squence is recommended in the bath.
Emir Bath, which is among the frequent destinations of tourists from domestic and foreign countries, opens in the early hours of the morning and serves until late in the evening. It's usually busy in the afternoon.
Beverage such as water and juice can also be purchased inside.
