Konya Grand Mosque

The Grand Mosque in Akşehir district of Konya is built by Alaaddin Keykubat, who started the age of progress of the Anatolian Seljuk State. From the structure, which was expanded between 1220 and 1237, it remains in fact only the minaret in the courtyard. The Grand Mosque, which undergoes many repairand restoration works over time, is repaired by staying true to its original ity each time.
The interior of the work is decorated with muqarnas art, which consists of calligraphy and geometric shapes. The best meeting of Gokturk blue and tile red is also in this mosque. With small windows decorated with stained glass in its high dome and dome, the structure feels a semazen that reach out to the sky.
