Konya Industrial School, which the Ottoman Empire built by adopting a European style of education, is one of the most beautiful examples of Ottoman architecture in recent times.
In the Ottoman Empire, the movement of modernization begins with the Reform Period. One of the first movements of modernization is to adopt the European understanding of education. Ottoman, built new structures in order to adopt this type of education in the Sultan Abdulhamid II period. He built today's Konya Industrial School. The structure, which was founded in 1898, was completed in 1901. One of the most beautiful examples of the young Ottoman architectural period, the school also stands out with its spacious interior structure.
In 1558, Konya’s covered bazaar, built by the Ottoman Sultan Magnificent Sultan Suleiman, succumbed to time and became a ruin. The remains of the nine-domed bazaar were completely destroyed by Abdulhamid II who starts training here in order to support education in the same place and to increase the level of knowledge and well-being of his people. The architecture of Konya Industrial School is written by the governor of Konya at the time and is built by The Provincial Engineer Şefik Bey.
