Fasıllar Rock Monument, which remains one of the largest in the hittites and is one of the largest examples even today, was built in the 13th century BC.
The Fasıllar Rock Monument, which the Hittites have brought to history, still stands today in its first day's glory. Weighing about 70 tons, this monument is made from basalt. Located in The Fasıllar Village of Konya, the work is also the statue of the Storm God of Hittites. Standing on a Mountain God and between two lions, this monument is dazzling by its explorers for thousands of years so to say. With its reliefs and the regularness of handcrafting, the monument, which has almost golden proportion beauty, is especially appreciated by those who love symmetrical appearance.
The Fasıllar Rock Monument, which is eight meters high, weighs 70 tons. The work, which is almost three meters wide, is removed from the quarry, as a result of the excavations which is located right near it. Historical scientists from this situation believe that the monument is not the village of Fasıllar.
