The Central Mosque, which is considered the most frequent place of worship in Kars city, is in a very easy place in terms of transportation, right in the middle of the city. Kars, who was lost by the Turks in the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878, who made his name as the 93 war on the pages of history, remains under the protection of the Russians for 40 years. The Russian Tsar of the period, which wants to give the city a new look, brings the best architects and engineers of Baltic architecture from many different countries, especially the Netherlands, to this city. The rubble of the Orthodox Church, which the Russians built in the Baltic architectural style but have not been able to reach to this day, was removed and built-in 1959 central mosque. Today, the building, which is the most visited mosque in Kars, facilitates the transportation of its visitors with its location in the middle of the city. The Central Mosque, which dazzles the ceiling and wall embroidery in the interior, also stands out with its spacious entrance section consisting of floor-to-ceiling glass. The mosque, which creates the impression that Ottoman and Seljuk architectures meet, also blinks today's mosque architectures with its symmetrical structure.
