Grand Mosque

In the 16th century, when the Ottomanempire ruled, Sultan Murad III was built, the Grand Mosque still retains its unique structure thanks to the restored parts. Sultan Murad III builds of the Grand Mosque. But, because of iranian attacks, Shah Abbas's armies destroy large parts of the mosque and damage it. When history shows the 17th century, Sultan Ibrahim, the Sultan of the period, orders Kars Governor Dilaver Pasha to rebuild the mosque... Open for many years to worship the people of Kars, the mosque was also used as a long-standing arsenal during the Ottoman Russian war. The Grand Mosque restored last in 1997. The mosque, which was largely renovated as its authenticity, gain its present appearance in those years.
