Ödemiş, which is one of the districts of Izmir, has managed to be the center of attention in recent periods, especially with its villages. When the villages of Ödemiş are mentioned, Birgi and Gölcük usually come to mind. In particular, Gölcük stands out as a preferred place for local visitors. This place is actually described as a town rather than a village. As the name suggests, Gölcük is full of green areas, which are located around a lake. The lake is located in the middle of the hills which pass as the lower tributary of Bozdag. The height of the lake, which is formed by rain and the water of the stream, is around a thousand meters from the sea. Within the lake, fish species such as carp and bow attract attention. The town of Gölcük borders regions such as Bozdag and Çamyayla. This place is also a very popular place and was 20 kms away from Birgi being once the capital of Aydınoğulları. On the other hand, on the Salihli side, it is possible to reach Sard, which is the center of the Lydian Kingdom. Bozdag and Salihli, the city's ski center, close to this area, increases the awareness of Gölcük. Gölcük especially welcomes visitors from within Tire, Ödemiş and Salihli. Gölcük Plateau is an ideal area for those who want to get fresh air while enjoying a great view. The town of Gölcük is predominantly surrounded by chestnut and walnut trees. On weekends, many amateur and professional photographers perform practical fieldwork here. The lake at the resort is known to be formed by tectonic movements. The depth of the lake is measured at an average of five metres. This house today serves as a hotel. There is a distance of 18 kms between Gölcük and Ödemiş district center.
