Balıklı Pond, which is exactly a nine-eyed arch and also called Balıklı Arch, was built during the reign of the sultan of the Ottoman Empire Mehmet II, or Mehmet the Conqueror with most known name.

The pond with 12 x 18.4 meters in size consists of three separate rooms in the form of a room and its construction date goes back to the Roman period.

The most common rumor about Balıklı Pond, which underwent a major restoration in the Ottoman period and reached its present state, is the fish in the wells around Çilehane of Sheikh Hamid-i Veli Somuncu Baba. Balıklı Pond, which was built as a result of the works initiated in the period of Osman Hulusi Efendi, the founder of Es-Seyyid Osman Hulusi Efendi Foundation and which was restored by the foundation, is one of the most historical places in Istanbul.
